Metro work, road widening, new towers going up every few hundred metres, it’s a lot of construction activity happening at once.
The client opened the door and said, half joking, “at least the dust outside matches the dust my last carpenter left inside.”
She wasn’t exaggerating by much either. Her previous flat had gone through months of on-site woodwork, and the sawdust from that process had settled into corners she was still finding a year later.
That conversation stuck with me, because it’s a pattern I keep running into across this belt of the city.

But for the kind of straightforward, high-functioning modular interiors most homeowners in Hennur and Kalyan Nagar are actually after, kitchens, wardrobes, storage that needs to survive daily use and Bangalore’s humidity, factory-made execution tends to hold up noticeably better over time, and it gets you into your finished home a lot sooner.
Given how much construction activity is already happening around this part of the city, and how much of daily life here revolves around commuting to work rather than waiting around for a home renovation to wrap up, it’s not surprising more homeowners are choosing the option that keeps their own timeline, and their own home, as undisturbed as possible.
