What actually matters is how your kitchen and wardrobes hold up three, five, or ten years into daily use – and that’s exactly what a warranty is supposed to protect against.

The problem is that a warranty certificate is only as good as its fine print. A vague marketing phrase like “lifetime warranty” often hides exclusions that leave you exposed the moment something actually fails.

Here’s a straightforward breakdown of what the 12-year modular interior warranty from MALIGE DESIGNS actually covers, what it doesn’t, and why our own factory model is what makes a commitment this long realistic in the first place.

1. The Cabinet Carcass: Where the Biggest Risk Lives

The structural cabinet box, or carcass, is the most expensive and most critical component of any interior project, and it’s where the warranty focuses most heavily.

Covered :

• Material delamination. If your project uses high-density substrates like HDHMR or genuine BWP marine plywood, the warranty guarantees the internal layers won’t split or separate under standard residential conditions.
• Edge-band peeling. Factory edge-banding is applied with high-temperature hot-melt adhesive. If it lifts or loses its bond within the 12-year window due to a manufacturing defect, it’s covered for repair or replacement.

Excluded :

• Continuous water logging. BWP and HDHMR are highly water-resistant, not designed to survive prolonged submersion. If a plumbing pipe bursts and leaves cabinets standing in stagnant water for days, that’s treated as environmental force majeure, not a manufacturing defect.

2. Hardware and Moving Parts

A kitchen drawer gets opened and closed thousands of times a year, which puts real stress on hardware most homeowners never think about until it fails.

If a soft-close hinge loses its dampening fluid, or a drawer runner jams due to an internal track defect, it’s eligible for service or replacement.

What’s excluded is damage from use, not manufacturing – overloading a drawer past its certified weight limit (heavy cast-iron cookware in a standard utility drawer is a common culprit) or rust from cleaning hardware with acid-based sprays falls outside standard coverage.

3. Surface Finishes

The visible surface – laminate or acrylic – carries its own specific coverage, separate from the structural carcass underneath it.

Covered: premium acrylic and high-pressure laminate processed in-factory are UV-stable, and the warranty covers abnormal, patchy discoloration or sudden fading that shows up under normal indoor use.

5. What Actually Happens When You File a Claim

A long warranty is only useful if the process behind it is fast and clear. Here’s the resolution path if something covered fails within the 12-year window:

1. Register the issue through the dedicated service channel.
2. Technician visit within 48 hours – an in-house engineer inspects the hardware or cabinetry and logs the issue on-site.
3. Resolution. Minor hardware fixes are handled on the spot. If a panel or shutter needs replacing, the original cutting data goes straight to the factory, and a matching piece is delivered and installed within 7-10 working days.
